Sleep to the song of the ocean...
Welcome to our vacation home at The Inn at Otter Crest on the Oregon Coast!
Our condo, updated in 2011, features huge windows that look out on the ocean, big screen TVs, and many more amenities.
Unit 404 is a guest room with two queen sized beds with pillow-top mattresses and good linens, full bath, a microwave, mini frig and food prep area, and a balcony with a stunning ocean view west and south past the lighthouse at Newport.
Unit 405 is a more spacious loft unit with a well equipped full kitchen, a dining area, 1½ baths, and a living room with a cozy electric fireplace and a super comfortable queen sized sofa bed. The loft bedroom has a pillow-top king sized bed as well as a brand new double sofa sleeper. The living room looks out on a spectacular panoramic view from Gull Rock south down the coast past Yaquina Head in Newport. Look for the Yaquina Head light house blinking in the distance at night from the balconies of both units as you look south!
By renting both units together, larger groups can have a comfortable two bedroom condo that will sleep 10 guests in all.
Some additional amenities include wireless internet access, voice mail and the use of the onsite heated swimming pool and sunning deck, 2 hot tubs, sauna, tennis courts, a game room and laundry facilities.
When you call for a reservation, please ask for units 404 and/or 405 and let them know you saw this ad on BeachCombersNW. Thank you. We look forward to having you as our guests.

Additional Features: The Inn at Otter Crest is a wonderful escape from the ordinary. Our unit is nestled on the hillside with a south western exposure in a resort that features a natural setting amidst 30+ acres of rhododendrons and tall fir and Sitka spruce. The panoramic ocean views are dramatic but you are away from the traffic noise in a secluded and serene setting. If you love nature, you will be thrilled by your experience here. Take a long walk on a sandy beach. Look for the eagle that often makes an appearance. Beach comb for agates or explore the tide pools during a low tide. Our restaurant The Lodge at Otter Crest is opening end of November, 2011 and there you can savor truly spectacular sunsets. Come experience the serenity and romance of this very special location.
Additional Amenities: A bell cart will deliver you to units 404 and/or 405 in building W from the guest parking area. A tram is usually available to carry you between levels or you can call the Front Desk and request a pick-up by the bell cart whenever needed. Take a swim in our heated pool or laze away the hours in the hot tub or on the pool deck and exchange adventures or shopping experiences with other guests. Free wireless internet is available in the units, but please know that if the signal is not sufficiently strong, you may pick up a plug-in repeater in the office that will strengthen the signal appreciably or stop by the business center in the Lodge at Otter Crest which will be open in late November, 2011. Video library rentals are available in the onsite office. A game room and exercise room are shared with all guests on the property. A children's water view playground, a duck pond with resident ducks that children can feed, activity room with games, and tennis courts are available on site.
Local Events: Spot migrating whales from your balcony. View the sunning seals as low tide approaches from the Otter Crest promontory overlooking the rocks. Walk the 85+ stairs to the secluded beach and turn right to explore the marine gardens with colorful anemones and orange and red starfish at low tide. If you go to the right from the stairs, you can look for agates or shells along the beach. On the far end of the beach you can walk/climb inside the Devil’s Punchbowl, a sea cave accessible only during low tides. Take a pleasant 10 minute walk from the Inn on a path through the tall Douglas firs and Sitka spruce to the delightful community of Otter Rock where you will find a small state park with picnic tables overlooking the ocean and Devil’s Punchbowl. Check out Mo's, a well known local seafood restaurant that serves a famous oyster stew (open seasonally). The Flying Dutchman Winery in Otter Rock is usually open for wine tastings. Local Attractions & Activities: Go deep sea fishing or whale watching in nearby Depoe Bay and visit Tidal Raves for a bowl of their special Spinach Oyster Bisque with a half order of Seahawk Bread – my favorite. Top it off with a Tillamook ice cream cone at the Fuddy-Duddy Fudge shop across the street.
Day trip to Lincoln City for shopping at the wholesale outlet.
Journey to nearby Newport to check out the skill of the local craftsmen in glass, pottery and wood at the fascinating Newport bay front galleries (Oceanic Arts, the Wood Gallery, and the gallery close to the Saffron Salmon (yum)) are some of our favorite galleries. Enjoy the Newport aquarium (expensive but worth it) to see the otters, seals, bird display, and the magnificent shark tank you walk through. Visit the free Mark Hatfield Science Center with lots of marine exhibits and almost always an octopus you can see upfront and personally that is fed Tuesday at 1:00 - a treat worth seeing. Take in a play or film at the Newport Performing Arts Center. Dine royally on fresh seafood overlooking the splendor of crashing ocean waves. If you are here in Newport early Saturday morning in the summer, the Saturday Market has good bargains in plants and crafts and a fantastic baker (Katie) that brings a huge assortment of fresh breads and marvelous pastries – just join the long line around 9:00 o’clock that means she will be arriving soon. It's worth the wait!
