Pacific City & Neskowin Oregon Vacation Rental | PIER STREET HOUSE: MILES OF QUIET SANDY BEACH | Listing #2131
Monsoon Special: Free 3rd night during the off-season (holidays excluded).
Pet friendly, just 1/2 block to miles of pristine, quiet beach, located in the isolated community of Tierra Del Mar (5 miles north of Pacific City). Lovingly furnished, 1-1/2-story home. Vaulted ceilings, open plan. Choose a book from the extensive library, grab a cup of cocoa, and settle back in the rocking chair by the woodstove after a long walk on the beach.
Step outside on the spacious 2nd floor balcony: listen to the surf and feel the breeze off the ocean. Reflecting my love of cooking, the fully equipped kitchen includes a Jenn-Air range, Bosch dishwasher, a plethora of cooking utensils and appliances (microwave, coffee-maker, blender, etc.). Charcoal barbecue available. Landscaping with native plants creates a secluded secret garden, completely fenced with doggy door accessing laundry room of house.
Three bedrooms: two adjoining bedrooms upstairs, including the "Kids' Bunkroom," decorated with children in mind. Both other bedrooms with queen-sized pillow-top beds. Full-sized futon sofa-sleeper in living room provides a fourth sleeping area. (Sleeps up to 10 people.)

Ita Lindquist - Sep 2016~
We have stayed at Pier Ave. or Guardenia St. more times than I can count. It is always splendidly clean, quiet and comfortable - a very welcoming respite from the city. September at the beach is always a treat and our dogs got a chance to run off some steam. Thanks, Susy, for offering your house and for letting us bring the dogs. We sure appreciate it!

The house and location were perfect for us and we had a wonderful time. The fenced yard was very useful for our dogs and the home has a nice layout , which was great for family gatherings. It was an easy walk to the beach and very, very, low density of folks on the beach compared to other places on the Oregon coast that we've visited. Pacific City is close by for the store (small thriftway), pizza, brew pubs, gas, expresso, etc., and Oceanside, Cape Meares Lighthouse and Tilamook (Cheese Factory, air museum) are not too far away. We will return.

Off the Beaten Track...For 40 miles, Highway 101 turns inland between Tillamook and Lincoln City, 5 miles north of Pacific City and due west of Portland. But running along the coastline (and unknown to most travelers) is beautiful 3 Capes Road. Nestled between 2 of the majestic capes is the tiny beach-front community of Tierra del Mar. This is the Oregon Coast of the old days. Even at the height of the summer season, you can usually walk for miles without encountering another person.
The beach runs from Cape Kiwanda nearly to Cape Lookout, 8 to 10 miles of mostly deserted white sandy beach. Backing on miles of protected land, a walk in either direction on the beach passes nothing but natural bluffs and grasslands. A few miles north lies an estuary where you can spot everything from herons and eagles to seals and foxes. At the other end of the beach is the rarely visited north side of majestic Cape Kiwanda, where climbing the high dune to the top to view the spectacular rock formations and caves far below is an unforgettable experience.
Within 10 Miles: Unique dichotomy of utter seclusion, with no commercial establishments whatsoever, in Tierra del Mar with near-by Pacific City's (5 miles south) plethora of fun things to do:
Pacific City: Excellent pubs, restaurants, and shops in nearby Pacific City. Crabbing, clamming, fresh-water river fishing, boating, kayaking; deep sea fishing and dory boat excursions launched from the beach at Pacific City. Surfing, scuba diving, wind surfing, jet skiing as well as hang-gliding at Pacific City along with equipment rentals for all of the above.
On the quiet side: Two capes (Cape Kiwanda and Cape Lookout), each with their unique character. Bird & wildlife sanctuaries. Estuary and protected breeding grounds for birds and wildlife. Waylen Island State Natural Area. Unique whale-watching vantage points. Dunes. Lots and lots of hiking in nearby state forests. Surf fishing, clamming at Tierra del Mar's beach. Great biking (rentals available) along 3-Capes Road.
