Several new hotel projects have been constructed in Ocean Shores over the past few years. Several of the motels and inns have convention/conference capabilities accommodating between 50 to 800 guests.
Vacation and beach house rentals are also available on an overnight basis and include home and condominium rentals.
Originally developed in 1960, Ocean Shores continues to be Washington's most visited seaside destination, hosting nearly three million visitors annually. Ocean Shores is located on a 6000 acre peninsula. The western shoreline extends approximately southward six miles with five different beach access roads to the sandy public beaches. The southern shoreline runes easterly along the entrance to Grays harbor. The southern tip of the peninsula is where you will find the Ocean Shores marina and the ferry that you can catch a ride on to Westport. The eastern shoreline is primarily residential, with a view of Bowerman Basin, Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountain range.
During the summer, visit the Ocean Shores Interpretive Center. Here you will learn about the history, wildlife and ecology of the peninsula. During the winter, visit the north jetty and join others in searching for sea treasures, agates and sand dollars.
Other activities available include fishing, renting mopeds or bicycles, riding horses on the beach, playing miniature golf in the center of the town or taking a ferry ride across Grays Harbor to Westport.
The peninsula is also home to more than 23 miles of interconnecting fresh water lakes and canals, which offer year round boating, wildlife viewing, and exceptional fishing opportunities.
Ocean Shores features a marine climate with cool and comparatively dry summers, and mild but relatively wet winters. As is typical in a marine environment, brisk ocean breezes are common.
