The apartment itself was immaculate upon arrival. The bathroom, the bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen were all spotless. It is clear from the decor that a lot of thought has gone into this place, and they have created a beautiful haven for their guests. Every appliance and utensil imaginable is there for your convenience, and we greatly enjoyed cooking on the gas stove.
Just outside your door is a little sitting area with some super-comfy adirondack chairs at the ready, and the cleanest hot tub I have ever witnessed. They've got it set up so that one person can easily remove and replace the cover. We were both delighted to be able to slip into that 100 degree water for two of our three nights. Just what the doctor ordered after our 6+ mile runs each morning on the beach which seems to stretch on forever.
And speaking of the beach - WOW!!! Utterly gorgeous! And huge!! It's an extremely gentle slope to the water, and is perfect for running on. The clammers get out in full force at sanctioned times, and you will be in luck if you happen to like to eat them. We've never seen so many before. As one might suspect, the sunset is spectacular here, and there's always some interesting flotsam and jetsam on shore in the morning.
I'm rambling now, but that's what happens when you're enamored with something, right? Jim and Patti are awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to please. I had a great time chatting with Jim for the better part of an hour about the history of the area. He's a gem!
That's about it. You will not regret making a reservation here. I have no doubt that Christine and I will return again someday. It was a delightful and perfect weekend, and our lodging played a huge part in our enjoyment. Thanks, you guys!!!

My spouse and I had a wonderful time here. We had a set back on our original plans and they accommodated us without any hesitation. We loved everything about this property. The location and views are absolutely stunning. We loved the additional amenities such as the hot tub, fire pit, and gas stove. Check in was easy, as well as communication with the host. The only thing we would have changed is the length of our stay, we didn’t want to leave!

We arrived after sunset to a cozy, warm, and inviting cottage filled with everything we needed including special treats for our four legged children. The morning brought stunning ocean views from every window. We spent our time relaxing and appreciating our special time. I wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to returning soon.

We didn’t stay long enough. The view of the ocean is peaceful and calming. The rental is exactly how it’s described. Patti and Jim are accommodating and respectful of space. The ocean is right at your feet. We went on a rainy ocean walk and being able to hot tub afterwards was refreshing. It’s covered and being able to sit outside and listen to the PNW rain from the deck with an ocean view is magical. Definitely a place we look forward to coming back to! —

My husband and I recently spent two nights here and could have stayed a week or more. The house is very well appointed with everything we needed, the walk to the beach is well marked and lit (thank you Patti and Jim!), and the flowers and plants on the property are beautiful and well loved and cared for. Patti and Jim were welcoming and delightful (and so was house dog Bailey!), but they were not intrusive. Being able to see, hear, and smell the ocean at all times was rejuvenating. Our dog Stella loved being here too, and we'll all be back when we can! —

I've stayed at five star hotels that could learn from these folks! The place feels homey and clean and has everything you could ask for, inluding a well maintained footpath that has your toes in the sand minutes within arrival. Beautifully landscaped, bbq, hot tub, fireplace, and the touches like salt and pepper, cards and kites-the only thing wrong with the beach bum is it doesn't belong to me!! We really loved this place! The location right on the beach could not have been any better for nice beach walks and ocean viewing, and the windows in the living room and bedroom meant we could easily see the ocean when inside too. The kitchen was well equipped, and had everything we needed. The property layout is conducive to relaxing...the hot tub outside, the covered patio area (= staying dry while watching the rain), the nice garden. very comfortable inside and out! We had some beautiful sunshine and some cozy rainy time...perfect combo. We were given privacy, while also getting an informative welcome note and prior communications so we knew we could easily ask any questions as needed. Patti and Jim have done a wonderful job setting up this lovely spot. Moclips also is laid back, and not over-developed. We hope to return! —Julie K.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Bum Inn and would highly recommend it. Just steps away from the incredibly wide (and long) beach, lots of sand dollar finding and sea life watching, great amenities, very quiet and restful. We stayed in early October when the majority of the tourists had gone home, so we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Spent hours watching whales move down the coastline and enjoyed walks on the beach in the morning and evenings. Be sure to stock up on groceries in Aberdeen as grocery options are very limited once you get to Moclips, just as the owners indicate. —Leslie A.

Moclips might be a small town, but that's why you want to go! This beautiful house is perfectly located on the beach. They have a hot tub, fire pit, chairs to take to the beach, and so much more. Did you know you can DRIVE on the beach?! Wow! It can sleep 4, but there's only one bedroom. The couch in the living room folds out to sleep 2, that's where we put our kids. You can open the blinds and watch the waves all day! We all slept so well, with the sounds of the waves. When you want a break from the ocean, you can take a 20 minute drive to the fish hatchery and feed the fish! Then a short 15 minute drive from there, you can hike in the rain forest. It was a simple hike that our kids enjoyed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Bum Inn. The location couldn't have been any better - literally steps from the beach - and the weather cooperated beautifully. The most relaxing time in a most relaxing cottage overlooking the ocean with a maintained path to the shore of the Pacific. The pups enjoyed long walks on the beach, greeting new friends, and visiting family staying 1/4 mile away. Hot tub was a plus! Jim and Patti are awesome owners. Landscape was charming.
