Perched on a high cliff above the southern side of Alsea Bay, you’ll have sea views from the home and panoramic outdoor views of the south and north sand spits, Alsea Bay and the Pacific.
You’ll love the eclectic, old-world details of the cottage, from beamed wood ceilings, antique furnishings and an amazing rock-and-shell-embedded wood-burning fireplace hearth with clever sailing ships on the mantle. Fully equipped kitchen, along with a second living room, making this a great home to share with another family.

“"Dowd House"... This home is an absolute treasure chest of history, nostalgia, comfort and sheer joy. Our family felt so relaxed and welcomed in this home. We LOVED all of the old books, the comfy couches, the very personal touches left here... the beautiful ships and decor all around the home. It was a delight to explore. There is plenty of room in this home, yet very cozy. We enjoyed using the wood fireplace and the ocean views were absolutely beautiful in both the downstairs living areas AND upstairs bedrooms. Meredith Lodging did a great job, as the home was very clean and our family of 7, had everything we needed for our stay. We found ourselves wishing we had booked the home for an additional couple of days, so... we will definitely be back!! Also, the towns of Walport and Yachats are close by with lots of activities and shopping opportunities. "Thank you, Meredith Lodging and the Dowd Family, for sharing this beautiful home with us".”
