Pacific Beach was first settled in 1863 and was first called Joe Creek. In 1903 the Pacific Beach name was adopted. Originally a sawmill town, Pacific Beach has always been a resort destination. Today the Kite Festival and Sand Sculpture Contest are among the popular Annual Events.
Copalis Beach and the community of Copalis is located just to the south of Pacific Beach. The beach at Copalis is wide and sandy. The main attraction though isn’t the clam, it is the beach.
Winter storm watching vacations have been becoming more and more popular and this is a great place to see the high surf roar in on the beach in the winter.
