Escape to a peaceful 3-bedroom, 2-bath home just across the street from Myrtle Beach and minutes from the point where the North Fork and Middle Fork of the Smith River meet.

Start your morning with a cup of coffee and a short walk to the river. Relax on the rocks, listen to the water flow, or simply take in the beauty of the surrounding redwoods and coastline. Spend your day fishing, kayaking, swimming, beachcombing, hiking, or exploring the Smith River and Myrtle Beach. Then walk back through the gate and beneath the beautiful California Laurel trees to your private retreat beneath the treed hillside.

This is a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the kind of vacation you'll remember long after you leave.

The home sits on approximately 1 acre of fenced property, making it a wonderful choice for guests traveling with dogs. The property includes Myrtlewood trees, redwoods, fruit trees, conifers, hardwoods, and plenty of natural surroundings to enjoy. The property is still evolving, and we're continuing to work on the grounds. We hope to have a garden producing fresh harvests in the near future, and several fruit trees are already producing.

You'll also find a covered back porch, providing a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the outdoors whether it's sunny or raining. The location gives you a wonderful mix of coastal and river experiences. You may occasionally hear voices or laughter from people enjoying the beach or the nearby community, especially outside. The water and surrounding landscape can carry sound. Inside the home, the 2x6 construction and insulation provide a quieter, comfortable space.

For your privacy and safety, exterior cameras are located outside and face the driveway and the backyard/driveway corner.

Guest access

Guests have access to the home and approximately 1 acre of fenced property. The yard is pet friendly, although determined escape artists may find a way out, and guests should be aware that there is a section of fencing up the hill that requires attention.

Bring your fishing gear and spend the day on the river. Bring your kayak and explore the water. Take a swim, walk the beach, search for treasures along the shoreline, or simply find a quiet place to sit and listen to the river.

Whether you're planning a Smith River fishing trip, a kayaking adventure, a Myrtle Beach vacation, a family getaway, or a peaceful escape into nature, you'll have a comfortable home to return to at the end of the day.

Other things to note

We provide towels that can be used at the beach. Please hang beach towels outside on the provided hooks so we can keep sand from being brought into the home.

We are pet friendly and welcome canines. Please pick up after your pet. Waste bags are provided just inside the front door. Sheets are available to cover the couches when traveling with pets.

The home is on a well with UV treatment. During late fall, please be mindful of water usage. In particularly dry years, the well can be affected.

The home is also on a septic system. Please flush toilet paper only and avoid excessive bleach and harsh disinfectants, which can interfere with the natural microorganisms necessary for the septic system to function properly. Disposal bags are provided for sanitary products.

This is also our vacation home, and we spend time here enjoying the river life ourselves. You'll find some owner belongings in the home. Please do not open the redwood chest in the master bedroom, as it contains personal items and has a damaged top. Owner jackets are also stored in the closet.
