The Blue Door to the Sea and Sky perches above the town with pleasant views from every window. Time passes peacefully here on a quiet, forest lane. The house is simple and nicely appointed-- timber construction, 2 large decks, hardwood floors and comfortable rooms. On the main floor, a cathedral ceiling rises above open living and dining spaces with a fully equipped kitchen: slate counters, new range, microwave and dishwasher. There is a fireplace, a stereo and a phone (for local calls). The living room sofa can double as a hide-a-bed for two, with a half bath nearby. Downstairs are two bedrooms, both with good views— one with a queen-size bed and another with two twins— and a full bathroom with shower and laundry. There is parking for two cars. A stairway next to the house leads down to the beach.

"Lovely beach house with tasteful decor and personal touches. I wish we could have stayed longer. The view is spectacular. There is no television, but the WiFi signal is very good."

"Overall an excellent experience. The house is nicely furnished and lovingly remodeled, remaining homey comfortable. All the amenities we needed and a wonderful stereo system (no TV - something I appreciated).
Only issue renters may have is that the shower is very small. The glass door is quite narrow and anyone over 250 lbs may have trouble accessing the shower at all."

    Things to See & Do

    Local Attractions:
This tiny coastal hill-town is called “the jewel of the Oregon Coast.” Here, a natural forested amphitheater frames the little village overlooking a changing sea, sky and shoreline of cliffs, rugged islands and sandy beach. The tiny town itself has good dining and a nice coffee shop. The beach drifts three miles south to lovely Netarts Bay. And to the north, a tunnel cuts through the massive cliff of Maxwell Point, to Agate Beach. There, ancient Missoula lava flows have been eroded into headlands and tidal pools. Just offshore is picturesque Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge with thousands of birds. Nearby, at Cape Meares, Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda, are trails through old growth rain forests, towering cliffs, a lighthouse and the a city lost to the sea. Wildlife abounds: whales, sea lions, elk, eagles, puffins and pelicans. Build sand castles and sunbathe; explore tide pools and hunt for agates; hike, fly kites, parasail; or watch winter storms, sunsets and countless stars. You can watch birds, surf, gather clams and mussels at low tide, go crabbing or fishing— it all awaits you. Here you will find a place to be with friends, family— or alone, in peaceful solitude.
