Things to Do in Lincoln City, Oregon: Glass Floats, Falls & 7 Miles of Beach

Last updated on October 15, 2026

Lincoln City stretches along seven miles of beach and has a little of everything — a year-round treasure hunt, a waterfall with a suspension bridge, a freshwater lake for paddling, and some of the best kite flying on the coast.

Hunt for glass floats

Lincoln City's Finders Keepers program hides thousands of hand-blown glass floats along the beach between Roads End and Siletz Bay, all year long. They're placed above the high-tide line — never in the water or on the cliffs — and if you find one, it's yours to keep. Register it with the city for a certificate and the story of the artist who made it. Come up empty? Local glass studios sell them, and some let you blow your own.

Cross the Drift Creek Falls suspension bridge

About 14 miles southeast of town, the Drift Creek Falls trail is an easy ~3-mile round-trip through the forest to a 240-foot suspension bridge strung across the canyon beside the falls. It's the area's signature hike. Bring a rain jacket — this is the Coast Range, and it sees plenty of mist. A recreation day pass is required at the trailhead.

Paddle Devils Lake

Right in town, Devils Lake is calm, warm-ish, and perfect for kayaks and paddleboards. Rent gear from a local surf shop, or launch from the Regatta Grounds where you can also picnic, swim, and fish. Siletz Bay at the south end is another gentle paddle.

Fly a kite and walk the beach

Lincoln City calls itself a kite capital for good reason — the steady beach breeze and open sand at the D River Wayside and Roads End make it ideal. Time a beach walk for low tide and you'll have miles to yourself.
