Where to Stay in Pacific City, Oregon: Areas & Rentals
Last updated on October 18, 2026
Pacific City is small, but where you stay here shapes your trip. Some homes put you a short walk from Cape Kiwanda, the dory boats, and the brewery; others sit on the quiet Nestucca River or the long, empty beach to the south. Here's a quick guide to the main areas of Pacific City vacation rentals and the homes that suit each kind of group. (If you're still planning your days, see our guide to things to do in Pacific City.)
Near Cape Kiwanda and the dory beach
This is the heart of the action. The north end of the beach sits beneath Cape Kiwanda's sandstone cliffs and the giant dune that everyone climbs at least once. It's where the famous dory fleet launches straight off the sand, and Pelican Brewing's original beachfront pub looks out at Haystack Rock. Stay here if you want to park the car and walk everywhere.
Best for big groups and families. Santosha sleeps 12 about a block from Pelican Brewing and the Cape Kiwanda beach, with a hot tub and game room. In the Dory Pointe neighborhood, Beneteau sleeps 11 and has a large, fully fenced yard — ideal if your group includes kids or dogs.
Shorepine Village
Just south of the village center, Shorepine Village is a planned beach community of homes and townhomes set among pines, paved paths, and dune grass, with easy beach access. It's a favorite for families who want a calmer base that's still walkable to Cape Kiwanda.
Best for dog owners. The Break welcomes up to three dogs, sleeps 8, and comes with cruiser bikes for the whole family.
Oceanfront in Kiwanda Shores
Kiwanda Shores is a gated oceanfront community with front-row views of Haystack Rock and the surf. It's the place for a special-occasion trip. Bailey's Place is a newer pet-friendly luxury home that sleeps 12 — a great pick for a multi-family celebration.
Along the Nestucca River and Bob Straub State Park
South of town, the Nestucca River curves toward the sea behind a long sand spit inside Bob Straub State Park. The beach here is quieter, and walkers often spot harbor seals near the end of the spit. Homes on this side trade walk-to-town convenience for river views, birdlife, and space to spread out.
Best for quiet-seekers. Wave Catchers sits between the river and miles of quiet sand at the edge of Bob Straub State Park, with private beach access for up to 8.
Best for couples. Pacific Baywatch is a brand-new studio for two with bay views — just right for a romantic weekend.
Tierra Del Mar to the north
A few minutes north, Tierra Del Mar is a small residential beach community just south of the Sand Lake Recreation Area's big dunes. It's a peaceful option if you prefer long, uncrowded beach walks and don't mind driving into Pacific City for dinner.
Neskowin to the south
A short drive south on Highway 101, Neskowin is a tiny village known for Proposal Rock and, at low tide, the stumps of an ancient "ghost forest" on the beach. It's a quiet alternative base, and an easy day trip if you stay in Pacific City.
