Florence is located on the Central Oregon Coast, just 60 miles east of Eugene and the northern edge of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (ODNRA). These dunes are some of the largest oceanfront dunes in the world. They range up to 500 feet high and form banks up to three miles deep. Stretching for 50 miles between Florence and Coos Bay, the Oregon dunes are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in the United States.
