Tucked into Cannon Beach’s quiet presidential streets, The Sand Dollar is a beautiful respite from the world just a few houses from the beach and a few blocks from the town’s charming downtown or lovely midtown, depending on which direction the wind takes you.

With its own fenced yard and parking area, graced by beautiful wind art and a wide porch, you’re immediately drawn away from your worldly worries from the moment you pull into the driveway. Walking up to the home, you can already picture yourself having wine on the porch after you settle in while you listen to the waves just beyond the end of the short street.

Stepping through the front door, you’re struck by the expansiveness of the open downstairs floor plan, where natural light spills in from every direction. To your left, the large and cozy living room offers plenty of space for your crew to spread out, with a large sectional sofa and two cozy chairs providing lots of spots to snug in around the gorgeous stone fireplace. To your right, the door to the garage offers the washer and dryer and firewood for the fireplace. You can throw a few extra logs on the fire and stay up late watching movies on the tv or playing board games with your crew. 

Between the living area and the kitchen, a door offers access to the side deck, where your resident grill expert can fire up a flame-cooked meal for dinner. Back inside, the open kitchen offers up a gas range and more than enough space for prep where meals can be put together while still visiting with loved ones in the living room or dining area. Nearby, a dining table with seating for six and three bar stools mean the whole gang can enjoy a meal together or late night card games without any crowding. Beyond the dining area, a spacious deck expands the living area into the great outdoors, with three chaise lounges, a table for four and steps leading down into the lovely yard where you’ll want to kick off your shoes and ground yourself in the soft grass.

Off the back of the dining area, you’ll find the first of the bedrooms which can double as a primary suite by way of a door closing it off to the rest of the home’s community areas if you choose. Here, you’ll find a beautiful bathroom with a nice-sized vanity and a walk-in shower, as well as a closet with extra storage and linens. With tons of natural light spilling through floor-to-ceiling windows, this bedroom holds a queen-sized sleigh bed, two bedside tables and a tv. It also looks out over (and has its own door to) the lovely backyard, but can be closed off from everything via blinds and a sliding barn door between it and the bathroom area.

Back through the dining area, a stairway leads to the upper bedrooms. At the top of the stairs, you’ll find an open landing with a bench and more windows allowing the light in. To the left, the large primary suite features a fluffy king-sized bed, closet, tv, dresser, cupboard and two side tables, so there’s plenty of space to tuck away your things during your getaway. Two cozy chairs invite you to enjoy a good book and some quiet time for a while before bedtime. The en suite bathroom holds a pedestal sink and a shower-tub combo so you can enjoy a good soak after a long day of wandering the sands.

Across the landing from the upper level primary suite, you’ll find two more bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The bedroom to the right offers another king-sized bed, dresser, tv, closet and plenty of cozy bench spots to perch as you transition into or out of a day of exploring the nearby beach and shops. Nearby, you’ll find another bedroom featuring two twin-over-full bunk beds, where the little ones can giggle into the night recanting tales of pirates and mermaids or just bragging about whose sandcastle was best that day. A closet offers plenty of room to tuck their clothes away. Throughout both of these rooms, more windows allow plenty of natural light to spill in at almost any time of day. Between these bedrooms, a large bathroom holds a wide vanity area with a single sink, that can be separated from the area holding the shower-tub and the toilet by a pocket door, making it handy if you’ve got a handful of kiddos competing for bathroom space.

In a home that invites you and your family to welcome the outside in, you’ll find yourself swimming in natural light, bathed in the sounds of the ocean and getting peeks into the quiet yard around almost every corner. After long days of wandering the beach a few houses away or poking through the sweet shops and galleries just a few blocks in either direction, you’ll find yourself stepping into a lovely world of its own in this beautiful respite.

Deposits & Policies

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your reservation, please call our office right away. We have a no-refund cancellation policy unless the dates you reserved are re-rented to another guest. If that happens, then your money will be refunded to you in the same form it was received, less travel insurance if purchased. Because of this policy we highly recommend purchasing Rental Guardian Travel Insurance with your reservation.

Other Policies: * Rates are subject to change without notice. Pricing excludes taxes, additional options or fees. Payment Terms – Once a reservation has been made, an email will be sent with a link to your Guest Reservation Contract. This electronic signature contract must be returned within 3 days to secure your reservation. Deposits are not charged to your credit card on file until your signed Guest Reservation Contract has been received. If your date of arrival is less than 30 days away, the entire reservation cost will be due in full. Reservations made less than 30 days before arrival may only be paid for with a credit card, money order, or a cashier’s check. We require a credit card to be kept on file with us even if you choose to pay by check. If your date of arrival is more than 30 days away, a deposit of 40% will be due upon receipt of your signed Guest Reservation Contract. Your final payment is due no later than 30 days before your arrival.

Guest Requirements – You must be over the age of 25 in order to rent a home from Beachcomber Vacation Homes. This Guest Reservation Contract cannot be transferred to anyone else and subletting the home is prohibited. The guest signing this Guest Reservation Contract will be the responsible party for any intentional or malicious damage to the property for the length of the reservation ( Please see our “Worry Free Damage Waiver” below ). Our homes are in neighborhoods that have full time residents so please be courteous with parking, outside activities, lights and noise.

PETS - Only dogs are allowed in our pet friendly homes. There is a fee of $60.00 + tax per- dog per- stay. Please make sure to clean up after your dog. Excessive pet mess may result in extra cleaning charges. If a pet is found in a non pet friendly house without prior notice and consent, then such is a violation of this Guest Reservation Contract and constitutes rounds for immediate termination and eviction. If you have an ADA service animal please let our office know right away so that we can make special arrangements in the event that you have chosen a non-pet friendly home.
