Perched overlooking the ocean and tucked just off of a side street, Windwhistle wraps you in a warm embrace even before you walk through the door. Driving a handful of yards down the narrow lane and into the driveway makes you feel like you’re getting away with something when really all you’re doing is just truly getting away!

You’ll rest assured that there’s plenty of room to turn around when you pull into the home’s driveway and large backyard and are first struck by the feeling of having this space all to yourselves for a while. The beautiful yard is just large and sheltered enough that there’s plenty of room to spread out and play outdoor games with your kiddos, even on a blustery beach day, all while listening to the sounds of the ocean coming from just on the other side of the house.

As you step through the door, the warm wood tones welcome you you into an inviting dining area and kitchen with plenty of room for several friends or family members to spread out. South-facing windows extend from the dining area into the kitchen, drawing your gaze out across the deck to the ocean beyond. The room’s inviting farm-style table seats six and a bar top leading into the kitchen easily adds space for another three adults. The kitchen is extremely spacious, allowing room for everyone to help with meal prep; and includes a coffee station, microwave, dishwasher and gas range.

Centrally located in the kitchen and dining area, you’ll find a sliding door leading to Windwhistle’s expansive south-facing deck. With both a traditional picnic table and a round outdoor table, you’ll likely find yourselves taking most of your meals outside while enjoying beautiful views of the Pacific. The deck also offers a chaise lounge for anyone looking to soak in the sun without going more than a few steps from the door. Down a couple of stairs from the deck and a few yards across the lovely front lawn,
you’ll find stairs leading you down to the beach below.

Adjacent to the kitchen and dining area, you’ll find a bonus room with a couch and television, as well as the home’s laundry room. The laundry room offers plenty of hooks for hanging wet beach towels and a full-sized washer and dryer. Just through the laundry room, you’ll also find a cheerful half-bathroom that’s perfect for a quick dash in from the beach and right back out again.

Continuing back through the kitchen, you’ll wander into the beautiful living room, where the warm wood tones and even warmer vibes continue. A brick gas fireplace is flanked by more windows with views toward offshore rocks at the south end of the beach. To the left, another door leads onto the deck and to the right, west-facing windows mean the ocean views continue throughout the space. A couch, overstuffed chair and cushioned wicker chairs sprawl around the room, giving lots of spots for enjoying each other’s company or tucking yourself into a great book. A small table is situated just so that you could easily get distracted by the evening breeze while playing a game of cards with your loved ones. Off the corner of the living room, the home’s Dutch-style front door gives you the option of allowing the sea air in, while keeping small kiddos
safely corralled.

At the northwest corner of Windwhistle’s ground floor, you’ll find a beautiful primary bedroom with a large en suite bathroom. The room features a king-sized bed from which you can not only enjoy stunning ocean views to the west, but also a peek of Haystack Rock through the room’s north-facing window. The room’s en suite bathroom holds a free-standing tub, separate walk-in shower and a double vanity, making it easy to share with someone you love.

Between the living room and master bedroom, stairs lead up to the cozy second floor bedrooms and bathroom. The roomy bathroom is just at the top of the stairs and features a shower/tub combo and a good-sized vanity, making it easy for friends or loved ones to share. Down the hall, a bedroom to the left holds plenty of sleeping spots with a queen-sized bed and two twin beds, making it great for four kiddos or parents with little ones that aren’t ready to sleep completely on their own yet. You’ll also find a dresser and a tv-vcr combo, ready to enjoy some nostalgic movies while drifting away after a long day at the beach. Across the hall, another bedroom features a queen-sized bed and dresser. In both upstairs bedrooms, cheerful wall colors, lovely quilts and angled walls continue the home’s warm and welcoming feeling.

Throughout this home, you’ll find so many touches that make you feel instantly at home just a few steps from one of the North Oregon Coast’s most stunning stretches of sand. From the warm wood tones to the cozy decor, comfort abounds in every inch of this lovely home where you’ll find yourselves just a two-mile beach walk from Cannon Beach’s great restaurants, galleries and shops.

Deposits & Policies

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your reservation, please call our office right away. We have a no-refund cancellation policy unless the dates you reserved are re-rented to another guest. If that happens, then your money will be refunded to you in the same form it was received, less travel insurance if purchased. Because of this policy we highly recommend purchasing Rental Guardian Travel Insurance with your reservation.

Other Policies: * Rates are subject to change without notice. Pricing excludes taxes, additional options or fees. Payment Terms – Once a reservation has been made, an email will be sent with a link to your Guest Reservation Contract. This electronic signature contract must be returned within 3 days to secure your reservation. Deposits are not charged to your credit card on file until your signed Guest Reservation Contract has been received. If your date of arrival is less than 30 days away, the entire reservation cost will be due in full. Reservations made less than 30 days before arrival may only be paid for with a credit card, money order, or a cashier’s check. We require a credit card to be kept on file with us even if you choose to pay by check. If your date of arrival is more than 30 days away, a deposit of 40% will be due upon receipt of your signed Guest Reservation Contract. Your final payment is due no later than 30 days before your arrival.

Guest Requirements – You must be over the age of 25 in order to rent a home from Beachcomber Vacation Homes. This Guest Reservation Contract cannot be transferred to anyone else and subletting the home is prohibited. The guest signing this Guest Reservation Contract will be the responsible party for any intentional or malicious damage to the property for the length of the reservation ( Please see our “Worry Free Damage Waiver” below ). Our homes are in neighborhoods that have full time residents so please be courteous with parking, outside activities, lights and noise.

PETS - Only dogs are allowed in our pet friendly homes. There is a fee of $60.00 + tax per- dog per- stay. Please make sure to clean up after your dog. Excessive pet mess may result in extra cleaning charges. If a pet is found in a non pet friendly house without prior notice and consent, then such is a violation of this Guest Reservation Contract and constitutes rounds for immediate termination and eviction. If you have an ADA service animal please let our office know right away so that we can make special arrangements in the event that you have chosen a non-pet friendly home.
