Coastal Activities to Unwind & Recharge


Play on the Sand Dunes 

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is a 40-mile stretch of towering sand dunes from Florence to Coos Bay, offering fun and excitement for the whole family. Whether you prefer to explore by foot, or by off-highway vehicle (OHV) in one of the many designated day-use areas, there are many beautiful sights to see. 


Visit an Aquarium

The Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport is one of the largest aquariums in the Pacific Northwest and is home to over 15,000 animals from more than 200 species. Visitors can explore the aquarium's exhibits, which include sea otters, seals, and sea lions, as well as a variety of fish and invertebrates.

The Seaside Aquarium is a small, family-friendly aquarium that features a touch tank, where visitors can interact with various marine creatures, including sea stars and anemones. The aquarium also has a display of local marine life, including Pacific octopus, wolf eels, and rockfish.

Check out the Tillamook Creamery

Tillamook is a must-visit destination for foodies and cheese lovers on the Oregon Coast. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the Tillamook Creamery to learn about the cheese-making process, from milk to finished product. The tour includes an interactive exhibit, a viewing area where you can see cheese being made, and a sample station where you can try various types of cheese and other dairy products. 


Beachcombing & Tidepooling

Springtime is a great time for rock hunting, as the winter storms bring up beautiful finds deep from the ocean. Aim to scour the beach right after a high tide goes out for the freshest finds! There are many incredible spots along the Oregon's beaches to scope out tide-pools! Make sure to check the tide charts before you head out, follow local safety guidelines, and be respectful of any sea life you find.

Enjoy Local Brews & Pub Food

Oregon Coast is home to many excellent breweries that offer visitors a chance to enjoy locally crafted beer and delicious food while taking in the stunning coastal scenery. Many offer kids menus as well! These brewpubs feature a wide range of beer styles, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts, and often use locally sourced ingredients to create their menus. 

Some of the most popular brewpubs on the Oregon Coast include Pelican Brewing Company in Pacific City, Rogue Ales & Spirits in Newport, and Fort George Brewery + Public House in Astoria. Visiting a brewpub is a great way to experience the region's vibrant culinary and craft beer scene while enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
